Watch the video below for a short-n-sweet recap of your results!
To complement your unique teaching talents (i.e. your special superpower!), I've curated a tailored set of resources just. for. you.
Your classroom is an incubator for creativity and innovation; it's a safe-space of trust and respect. If you had it your way, you wouldn't repaint the walls...you'd remove them entirely.
Seating is flexible--some might even say haphazard. Rarely are two students doing the exact same thing, yet every student is gripped by the learning process they helped design.
If I had to guess, an invitation to speak on that little red, round carpet (aka, TED stage) is heading toward your inbox any day now.
But perhaps the best part about your superpower is this...
You are bold beyond your years, yet your risk-taking in the classroom is beyond responsible.
Your students see you as a visionary and guide for what's possible in the world. With your care and support, there's no obstacle they can't scale, no mountain they can't summit.
Three cheers for your invincibility because, hint: our future needs you!
because every great leader needs a plan...
Now that we've drilled down into your core teaching talents, why not use this knowledge as power?! It's time to spring into action and level-up learning.
Like Lucius to Batman, or Edna to the Incredibles, I've been working on some new gadgets to enhance your awesome capabilities.
One of the things that makes you invincible is how carefully you craft your classroom's culture. For you, it takes precedence over content...but unfortunately, the same isn't always true for other teachers!
Leverage your superpowers at your next team-teacher meeting. Instead of the usual, fussy focus on coverage + data, model what it looks like to focus instead on team culture as a means for inspiring genuine growth.
According to educator and thought leader Katie Martin, sometimes teachers are neither 'supported nor pushed' to stretch the bounds of their instructional practice.
So when a teacher like you sprinkles in all that magical innovation, it can be confusing for other teachers who aren't pushing those boundaries.
Talk with your administrators:
What kinds of PD experiences can you cook up to create more equitable learning opportunities for your school community?
If I were to write a message in your yearbook, part of me would say, 'never change' because you are so awesome at what you do.
The other part of me would step in and scrawl: 'keep changing!' because your *instruction* does that so well!
But don't just be the change inside your four classroom walls. Spread your impact by sharing your successes with others online!
Get intentional about how you can inspire others with the work you're doing, then create a content calendar to share your stories and experiences!
Shazaam!!
I've got a special stash you're absolutely going to *love*. Explore below, and take your pick!
