Congrats, you have...SUPERHUMAN STRUCTURE!

Watch the video below for a short-n-sweet recap of your results!

Want Super-Structured Resources?

To complement your unique teaching talents (i.e. your special superpower!), I've curated a tailored set of resources just. for. you.

SUPERHUMAN STRUCTURE:

Friend, you can scaffold a lesson plan like a super-boss!

You've got every angle of instruction covered, and positively shine in being 'that' organized teacher.  To ensure that your lesson plans are perfectly prepared for your learners, you devote a *generous* amount of time to planning.

Bottom line: Designing end-to-end learning experiences is your #jam.

Plus, you have the added power of FORESIGHT.  You can peer into the minds of those (not so) tiny teenagers and anticipate their every move (bonus points!)

If you have Superhuman Structure, it means you are goal-oriented, conscientious, have a proactive attitude, and you stick to the plan.

Some key characteristics to describe you: meticulous, dedicated, full of integrity, thoughtful, thorough, and organizedAF.

When it comes to your classroom, Marie Kondo's Life-Changing Art of Tidying Up ain't got nothin' on you.

Organized, efficient, and sharp, you have yet to lose a file (digital or analog!); and you execute your schedule as assuredly as the lunchbell chimes.

Meanwhile, there isn't a corner you're willing to cut. And that's because everything you do in the classroom, every decision you make, is backed by integrity.

If you starred in a teacher-movie, you'd be:

the direct OPPOSITE of Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher

 (lol)

But perhaps the best part about your superpower is this...

Like Oprah Winfrey herself, you begin each lesson with crystal-clear intention.

Your students know exactly where you're taking them, and you time it up ~just right~ to deliver on that promise.

Three cheers for your super-structured self because, hint: our students need it!

Like Superman,
we all have our Kryptonite...

  • A driven go-getter, it can be difficult sometimes to pump the breaks.
  • Your calendar is *so* bullet-proof that it sees whitespace as the 9th circle of Dante's Inferno.
  • And as invested in planning as you are, the chances of you stashing a sleeping bag  in your classroom closet (JIC) are markedly high...

Well, hot dog

It must be lucky-tray day in the cafeteria!

YOUR TAILORED, SUPERHERO BLUEPRINT

because every great leader needs a plan...

Now that we've drilled down into your core teaching talents, why not use this knowledge as power?!  It's time to spring into action and level-up learning.

Like Lucius to Batman, or Edna to the Incredibles, I've been working on some new gadgets to enhance your awesome capabilities.

Here are the blueprints:

Strategy 1 | Take the pressure off yourself! Embrace the Protégé Effect.

If you're an educator, you've likely heard that students learn better by doing.  That's our boy, John Dewey.  He's awesome.

But check this out: students learn best by teaching.  That's the Protégé Effect!

Inviting your students to teach what they're learning to others not only deepens their cognitive understanding, it also builds social-emotional skills.

Strategy 2 | Talk with your curriculum map.

There's lots of talk about standards these days, but here's the legit word (you may not have heard) on the street...

There's a difference between standard-ized and standards-based.

In other words, your map (especially if dictated by someone else) is welcome to tell you which skills to teach...

But you--and your learners!--should be free to determine the content.  This'll help you quit feeling like you gotta cover it all, ya' dig?

Strategy 3 | Start with heart.

You're workin' hard, but are ya workin' smart?? No matter what structure you bring to the learning spot, the truth is this...

You gotta Maslow before you Bloom, am-I-right?!

Lofty learning goals? If you don't have your kids' genuine interests + internal motivations guiding the way, FORGET getting them to learn, yo.

(Tip: it's neurologically *impossible* to get schooled on something you don't care about!)

Start by...asking your students a question they never hear: 'what do you want to learn today?'  Then pair those interests with your learning targets for some real-deal results.

Consider this your path toward maximizing instructional impact and leveling-up learning in your classroom.
